A sample search: Pillbox checks your plan’s price, its mail order, coupon prices near you and cash prices, for 30 or 90 days, then shows where to fill it for the least.
Pillbox checks your plan’s price, its mail order, coupon prices near you and cash prices, then tells you where to fill it for the least.
What Pillbox does
The same prescription can cost very different amounts depending on where you fill it, whether you use your insurance, and whether you get 30 days or 90. Pillbox does the comparing for you.
Add what you take: bring in the prescriptions your insurance already has on file, or type a drug’s name. Pillbox signs in to your insurance account from your phone and starts with what your insurance charges. Then it checks if anywhere else beats it. Today that’s your plan’s mail order, free coupon prices from GoodRx at pharmacies near you, and cash prices from Cost Plus Drugs, for 30 or 90 days where they’re offered. More places are coming. If you need the brand, or the generic, it prices that one.
You get one answer: where to fill it, what you’ll pay, and every place it looked. Sometimes your insurance really is the cheapest, and it’ll tell you. If a longer supply, like 90 days instead of 30, would cost less per day, it shows that as something to ask your doctor about, never as a swap.
Privacy and security
Your password stays on your phone.
If you save your insurance login, it’s kept in your phone’s keychain. It never reaches our servers, our logs, or the AI model that reads prices.
What a search sends.
To search, your phone sends our search service the drug and how you take it (strength, form, amount, days), your ZIP code, your insurer, and pages from your plan’s site. Before a page leaves your phone, Pillbox takes out your name and the member and prescription numbers, birth date, phone and address the page labels as yours; if it can’t, the page isn’t sent. An AI model reads those pages for prices.
Your list stays with you.
Your list of prescriptions is kept on your phone, not on our servers. Our record of a search says that it ran and how it went, not which drug it was or what the pages said. Signing in with Apple gives us an account record, without your name or email.
It looks. You decide.
Pillbox reads prices. It never orders, refills, transfers or changes anything on your account. Those taps are yours.
No ads, nothing sold.
We don’t sell your information or use it for advertising.
Why we built it
Everyone deserves someone in their corner when they pay for medicine.
Finding the lowest price today means checking your plan’s portal, coupon sites and pharmacies one by one, for every prescription, every time it’s refilled. Most people don’t have the hours for it, so they pay whatever the counter says.
Pillbox does that legwork for you, like a friend who knows the system. No pharmacy pays us to be the answer. It works for you, and it tells you the lowest price it found, even when that’s the one you’re already paying.
